Description
Stone
House
was
constructed
over
the
winter
of
1853-54
, and
remodeled
to
replace
the
oak
timber
foundation
with
stone
in
1894.
The
original
owner
was
Charles
Marsh
Young
(1885
to
1942)
,
followed
by
Frank
&
Elly
Hartmann
(1942-1968).
The
Hartmanns
sold
the
house
to an
arm
of
Boise-Cascade
Corporation
and
it
is
now
owned
by the
Hidden
Valley
Lake
homeowners
association
,
maintained
and
held
open
for
touring
the
second
Saturday
of
each
month
by the
Stone
House
Historical
Society.
