Description	Note that this description refers to am1_0003 and am1_0004: View of H shaped building in each block. Separate areas were used as toilets and showers for men and women. One section was set aside for use as a laundry area with concrete wash tubs and scrub boards. The communal bathrooms created many problems for the evacuees. The toilet and shower areas for men had no partitions while the women had only partial partitions and no doors. Going from their barrack rooms to use the facilities during the middle of the night during snowstorms, rainstorms, and/or sandstorms were experiences the evacuees never forgot. It was particularly difficult for the elderly and the disabled.
