RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SONOMA.
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A POLICY WITH RESPECT TO THE
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SEA RANCH,
WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors is cognizant of
the need to increase the amount of land along the coaatline of
Sonoma County that is available to the public for ,ei.ntlfie,
educational, and recreational use, and a180 to e.tab11.h r ... oD&ble
access from State Highway No. 1 to the coastline, and
WHEREAS, Oceanic Properties, Inc., a8 owner and
developer of Sea Ranch, a planned community, located on the
northerly ten miles of the Sonoma coaat, bas offered and this
Board of Supervisor. has accepted by it. Re8olution No.26408,
-dated June 9, 1969, the dedication of approximately 120 acre.
of land at the north end of the sea llaDch, bounded by the Pacific
t Ocean and the Gualala River, for use a •• coastal park, and
WHEREAS, Oceanic Properties baa heretofore proposed
and this Board of Supervisora and ita Planning Colllllli8sion bave

multi-use park aite, ' and
WHEREAS, Oceanic baa since 1964 proceeded witb
development relying 'on the'se approval. and concepta,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board of
Supervisors finds, declares, determines and orders 8. follow.,
1. That the aforementioned park site was a portion
of the planned community zoning approved by this Board by
ordinance No. _10_7_8 __ , dated April 9 , 1968, and
Board of Zoning Resolution No. 2293, dated March 25, 1968, and

2. That the Director of public Works and the Planning
Director shall cooperate with affected landowners in finding a
route for a public thoroughfare from State Highway No. 1 to
properties aloAS the South Fork of the Gualala River taking
into consideration existing and proposed development, topography,
integration with this County'. Streets and Highway. MB8ter Plan,
and the Gualala Regional Park Plan.
J. It is the policy of this Board that, and the Planning
Director shall, as soon as possible, present to this Board
via the Planning Commission his recommendation of a revision of
t he planned community plan approved by the Board of Zoning
Adjustments by its Resolution No. 2Z93 , paying particular
attention to the providing of public access to tidelands areas
through commercial areas or public facilities that may be pl.nn~ .
between Highway No. 1 and the Pacific Ocean and public use
(pub11cbuilding or community service building) areas that may
be planned between Highway No. 1 and the Pacific Ocean within
the Sea Ranch.
