Press Democrat, Santa Rosa, California, Friday, May 7, 1971 4,000 Acres Added To Seashore Park POINT REYES STATION - Point Reyes National Seashore authorities here have received word from Washington that purchase of 4.000 acres of land at The Tip of the Tomales peninsula has been approved at a cost of $3 million. The land is owned by the Zena Marr estate. Willis Kriz, of the federal staff here, said this means the national park is within 9,000 acres of the 53,000 acre goal. Acquisitions have been slow. partly because of the length of negotiations for many of the parcels, and partly because financing has been sporadic. Condemnation proceedings are expected to be filed soon in San Francisco for another 319 acres at Laird's Landing. Another 2,413 acres of the Lake Ranch and 1,550 of Laguna Ranch are already awaiting condemnation trial jn San Francisco.
