Bill Kortum represents people
Bill Kortum knows the 1st Congressional District. A fourth generation resident, he understands its people and their way of life. Whether they live in the valleys of Napa and Sonoma, or along the North Coast, he shares their common concern for maintaining the quality of life that brought them here to live. Bill Kortum now runs for Congress because he sees a threat to this way of life. He sees a war in Southeast Asia that must be ended. He sees financially troubled schools, widespread unemployment, and rising inflation. He sees unreasonable taxes for both working and retired residents. He sees national policies that undermine local initiative to solve problems. Bill Kortum is an effective spokesman for people and their needs. Because of his hard work the present site of Sonoma State was acquired, providing a central location to serve the district. He is responsible for the unique educational State Park at Salt Point. He started the successful citizen effort which led to recent legislation guaranteeing everyone’s right of access to public beaches and tidelands. He has won respect for his work in business, education and conservation. Bill Kortum believes that a congressman should be more than just an address in Washington. He will bring personal representation back to Congress by establishing badly needed, bully staffed offices throughout the district. He will frequently hold “open door” meetings with constituents so that he can better reflect their views. Bill Kortum is a man you can trust with your vote in Washington. He will provide strong new representation willing to speak and act for the needs of the people. New representation that will insure for our children the opportunity to enjoy and build on the way of life that we in the 1st District now share.
Bill Kortum campaigns for people. When he comes to your neighborhood, take the time to meet and talk with him. You’ll like his approach to government and his approach to people. With Bill Kortum they’re both the same. Bill Kortum U.S. Congress
