I am well and still in France and expect to leave anytime now. I got a letter from Eliza as she was leaving Scotland for Brest France. She sent me a picture of the place she was staying and it is a pretty place but you cant tell much by the pictures as some fine pictures are taken in France and the land is poor. This is the best place I have been in yet. You told in your last letter dated Dec. 30 and told about eggs being 68 cents. I got a letter from Beth and she said pigs was all dead and told about her Christmas presents. I like to read her letters and so do the other boys. She uses some queer phrases.
